Outreach
Abbey Court School aims to enable mainstream staff to develop strategies to include and meet the needs of pupils with a range of SEND in their settings. Building capacity in schools and providing high quality INSET are vital aspects of the school’s work and the school aims to provide a comprehensive service for special schools, trainee teachers, mainstream colleagues and other professionals.
Abbey Court School has a range of qualified in-house trainers in a range of interventions and specialist areas who are able to provide relevant SEND training for school staff and trainee teachers.
Teachers in training are supported through training and immersion experiences provided by school staff in collaboration with teacher training providers.
Examples of support we are able to offer:
- Support to review SEN provision
- Guidance on best practice for individual students or groups with specific needs
- Leadership and management support to increase capacity
- Staff training on a range of interventions and best practice for teaching and learning to support pupils with Special Education Needs
- Guidance for UQTs, trainee teachers and ECTs
- Signposting of most appropriate resources and training to support staff and pupils
A range of bespoke training, support and guidance can be offered tailored to meet individual school need.
